Schools have long been seen as a place to improve people’s career prospects and create personal wealth. However, this view has been opposed by many people recently. They think education should not only include knowledge teaching, but also moral education. I agree with this view.

Many people argue students should pay attention to the main courses, because these courses determine whether they can enter a university. However, moral education is also very important for students. If a student can’t distinguish right from wrong, no matter how high his score is, he can’t be regarded as success.

I personally believe that students’ understanding of morality determines their success. Without moral education, society will be full of irresponsible behaviors, and young people will not be able to live a meaningful life.

Views on Setting Chinese Calligraphy Course

Recently, China’s Ministry of Education is launching a calligraphy education program for primary and middle school students, which is applauded nationwide. With the popularity of information technology, people’s communication and learning methods have undergone great changes; but students’ ability to write Chinese characters has been weakened. They are getting enslaved by computer keyboard.

Through extensive calligraphy classes incorporated under school curriculum, students are believed to enable themselves to use the right gestures to write standard Chinese characters. They can also learn to appreciate the work of ancient calligraphers to enhance the cultural enrichment. It is helpful to develop youngsters’ aesthetic taste, and to foster patriotism when they are engaged in various calligraphy-related activities.

Chinese calligraphy is the unique handwriting valued as fine art in the world. Everybody has the obligation to inherit and carry forward the valuable asset of human civilization, especially the young generation in China.

My Views on Give the Thumbs-up or Forwarding

Nowadays, whether they are true or false, more and more people are used to continuously giving the thumbs-up or forwarding some messages from the social medium whenever picking up their phones. In fact, it is not wise to do it.

First of all, unconscious of harm to the society, many people unconsciously become the tool of spreading a great deal of unhealthy news. For example, some violent, anti-social, and rumor news are hidden and forwarded, cheating others, threatening people around them after they forward messages randomly without inspecting their contents. Besides, by giving the thumbs-up carelessly, people are considered to be the ones who support a certain idea. As a matter of fact, they don’t know at all what is said in the messages. Their habits betray them. The next day, they find that their friends and classmates keep them at a distance. They say to themselves “what happened? My God”.

So people should take an objective attitude towards so much information.
